Q. Should I mulch or bag clippings?
A. Don't bag. Bagging the clippings on a fertile lawn removes about 2 pounds/thousand sq ft of nitrogen and other nutrients. Bagging also nearly doubles the mowing time, it is better to mulch and mow more frequently. One exception: if the lawn grows excessively long, remove clippings since heavy clippings may smother the grass.
